Activities
1. Programme during 2-week summer courses
The best way to learn a foreign language is to use it in daily life. That is why at Varia School learning experience goes beyond the classroom. As a part of our cultural programme we offer:
-
Outdoor Polish lessons (in pubs, museums, by bike...)
A combination of learning, enjoyment and sightseeing. This active way of using language enables you
to practise newly acquired vocabulary in everyday situations and learn more about Polish culture. -
International parites
To get to know one another better on the first day of the course and to share good memories on the last one - at the parties you will find some good Polish snacks and drinks and above all a charming company.
-
Guided city tours and sightseeing in the Jewish district of the city
There aren't many cities in the world which are as beautiful and enchanting as Kraków. Our guides will show you the way to the most interesting corners of Kraków, tell you all the fascinating legends and lead you to the places largely frequented by locals. We would like Kraków to be your city as well!
-
Weekend trips
Visiting an underground city made in salt, hiking in the Polish mountains, sleigh rides combined with bonfires, roasted sausages and mulled wine. These are only some of the attractions that we have
in our offer for your days off. -
Meetings with Polish students
Karaoke parties, barbecues, evenings in pubs, experiments with the Polish cuisine. With us you will taste Polish beer, try singing songs in Polish, prepare the traditional pierogi ruskie, and speak Polish, above all.
-
Language games
Let's play with Polish. To make your Polish education even more enjoyable we organise games and competitions. You'll try your hands at various quizzes on the Polish language and culture, puns,
or orienteering in Kraków. Prizes for the best players :)! -
Topic lecture
How to deal with all 'buzzing' words in the Polish language; can a Polish film be of interest to foreign viewers? Who is worth asking for an autograph in Kraków's Main Market Square? Our lecturers will teach
in Polish the history of Polish cinematography and inform you of famous people living in Kraków (lesson topics will include, for example: 'Correct Pronunciation', 'Polish Film', 'Schindler and the History of the Jews in Krakow' ....).

Opinions
I am listening to the CD I got from you and I would like to thank you once again, not only for the CD, but for the two weeks I spent in Kraków! Thanks to you I had a fresh and thorough look at the extraordinary place. Unfortunately, two weeks are not enough to explore the whole city, and that's why I'm all the more happy about my next visit. Right now I know that if I need any information about Kraków's cultural or night life, I have someone to turn to.
