Winter in Poland is a good time for people who like to spend their free time in the evenings. It starts to get dark around 4 p.m., so during these long evenings you could for example.... take a look at our propositions.

Christmas Market on the Main Square
At the Christmas Market you can buy Galician dainties and folklore handicraft. The stalls offer oscypek (the famous cheese from the mountains), nuts roasted in caramel, gingerbread, honey, local cold meat, pierogi and grilled meat. You will find there Slovac cheese and Hungarian langos, as the city hosts not only local, but also foreign merchants. If you take a walk to Rynek, make sure to stop at big, wooden barrels – you will get there delicious mulled wine, which tastes best in the sub-zero temperatures.

Kazimierz at night – the one and only!
The place for night parties, intimate conversations and... tasty food is a district loved by all students – Kazimierz. We recommend Pozytywka club to dance lovers and Eszeweria pub for candlelit conversations. And what's the most popular sandwich in Kraków? Of course zapiekanka on Plac Nowy – delicious and cheap!

Tea lovers
Hot flavoured tea is a traditional Polish way to warm up during winter time. In a tea room Czajownia at Józefa street you can taste tea from all over the world, observe how it’s brewed and mentally travel to different places thanks to concerts and stories of travellers. Highly recommend!

Interesting coffee places
Do you feel like having a peaceful evening with a cup of coffee or a cocktail? Here are some interesting places that we definitely recommend:

  • Frania Cafe – you can have a coffee in here, but also… do the laundry. Not bad, right?
  • Cafe Szafe – aromatic coffee in… a wardrobe? The design of this place will remind you of the “Alice in Wonderland” world!  😊
  • Camera Cafe – on a cold evening it’s good to get warm by drinking delicious hot chocolate.
  • Bunkier Cafe – this is a place near to the Planty. The tea garden is open the whole year. Glass walls disappear during warm days and they give a beautiful view at old trees during cold days.
