Conditions for 3-week intensive course


  1. The enrolment for the course is held by filling in the application form (on-line or at the School’s Office) and transferring the fee for the course. Paying the fee and receiving a confirmation results in the acceptance of those Regulations. The Regulations are constituents of the Agreement, which is signed by every Student during the enrolment.
  2. To define the language level of the Student, she/he needs to complete a test and go through an interview with a teacher. It does not apply to:
    1. Students beginning their Polish language study for the first time
    2. Students who continue their studies at Varia
    3. Students who have achieved a certificate from a previous level at the School or possess an international certificate in Polish language.
  3. On the webpage the School provides Students with a possibility to take a free placement test.
  4. The groups are created based on the Students’ language experience, age and individual needs.
  5. The course is appropriate for the Students who are over 15 years old.
  6. It is possible to change the group for the one on a higher or a lower level in some justified cases, provided that it is agreed with the Office of the School and the teacher is positive about the change.
  7. The courses are organised in the well-equipped classrooms and are led by qualified Teachers.
  8. In case that the previously planned group cannot be launched due to insufficient number of takers, the Students will be reimbursed for the fee they have paid.
  9. The School reserves a right to change the Teacher of in the middle of the course given the important organizational reasons.
  10. The School requires all Students to be punctual, actively participate in the lessons and prepare to the classes. It is forbidden to interfere in the class, use a mobile phone or any other equipment that disrupts the group's work. Student must not behave in any way that is contrary to the norms of social coexistence, in particular regarding religious and national feelings.
  11. The School does not reimburse any payments for absences.
  12. In case of a teacher's illness, technical issues or other unforeseen circumstances, the School organizes a substitution or postpones the classes to another date suitable for all the Participants.
  13. The School reserves a right to record lessons for the didactic purposes. The recordings will be used only for the School’s purposes without sharing or distributing them to the third parties.

  1. The Students are required to pay for the whole course in advance or to pay in the instalments in accordance to the offer of the School.
  2. The price of the course will not be changed during the course.
  3. The price for the semester course includes 150 PLN administrative fee, which covers the cost of School’s preparation and organisation of the course.
  4. The Participants are required to pay for the course in advance or to pay in two instalments. Payment in two instalments does not influence the price of the course.
    1. The first instalment should be paid in three days after applying for the course. However, it should be done no later than on the first day of the course.
    2. The remaining amount needs to be paid according to the deadlines available on the website: (‘intensive course’ tab).

  1. All bank fees should be paid by the Student.
  2. The price includes:
    1. Up to 60 hours of Polish language lessons* – 4 classes every day from Monday to Friday (9:30 – 12:45 with 15minutes break included)
    2. Language workshop (such as correct pronunciation, slang)
    3. Teaching materials
    4. Final test
    5. Certificate on completion of the course

*On the first day of the course, the beginners group starts classes at 9:30 a.m. The Students who have been learning Polish before take a placement test – oral and/or written – based on which they are assigned to the groups. All the groups except the beginners one have 2 lessons this day – from 11:15 to 12:45.

  1. The number of Students in the group can vary from 4 to 12. In case the group consist of 2 or 3 Students, the number of lessons gets reduced to 3 classes daily.
  2. For the Students who join the group in the middle of the course, the price is calculated individually.



  1. The course ends up with a test that verifies the progress of each Student in the field covered by the course. A positive test result qualifies the Student to participate in a higher-level course.
  2. To obtain a certificate from the course a Student has to take part in at least 60% of lessons during the course and obtain positive grade from the final test (min. 60%).
  3. A Student passes to the next level on the conditions of passing the final test (60%), attending the lessons (at least 60% attendance rate), regular preparation of homework, active participation in the course and positive opinion of the teacher about the Student’s work and his/her progress.
  4. On request, we prepare confirmation of registration to the course, which can facilitate obtaining residence card or visa.


  1. In case that a Student wants to resign from the course, he/she needs to provide the School with a written resignation from the course. Then the settlement is held in accordance to the rules stated in  § 4, point 2 of those Regulations.
  2. The resignation regulations:
    1. In case the resignation is made over two weeks before the start of the course, the School reimburse the whole payment subtracting the administrative fee (150 PLN).
    2. In case a resignation from the course is made in two weeks leading the beginning of the course or up to two days after the start, the Student who paid the full payment is reimbursed the amount reduced by the down payment (550 PLN).
    3. In case of the resignation from the course after the first three days of the course, the payment is not reimbursed.
    4. If a student applies for a visa or residence card and they received a proper document from the School, they are not entitled to reimbursement of the first instalment (550 PLN)   regardless of the time of resignation.
  3. In case a Student does not pay the second instalment in due time – or at latest 2 days after the due time – she/he loses the right to attend the classes until settlement of the bill in accordance to those Regulations. A Student who did not pay the second instalment and stopped attending the classes is still under the Agreement and is committed to its obligations.
  4. In case the School provides the Student with a confirmation of application on which base he or she applies for a visa or a residence permit, then the down payment is not reimbursed regardless of the date of the resignation. If the Student has paid the full amount for the course, then he or she is reimbursed the amount reduced by the down payment accordingly to § 4 point 2.
  5. The payment for the resignation from the group course can be cancelled on the condition that the Student provides the School's Office with a written resignation from the course containing the explanation of the situation and attaches documents confirming that the resignation has been forced by unforeseen circumstances such as illness, difficult family situation, etc. The decision about cancelling the fee for the resignation from the course is made by the Director of Varia Polish Language Center in 7 days period from the date of submitting the document.

  1. The right to claim the reclamation is granted to all Students. The reclamation can refer to the teaching methods and/or organizational issues.
  2. A reclamations can be made:
    1. At the Office of Center of Polish Language Varia (Michaowskiego 2/3 street, 31-126 Kraków) in the written form
    2. Via e-mail to:
  3. The accurate complaint should include:
    1. Personal data of the Student (name, surname, address, mail)
    2. Description of the situation causing the complaint
    3. Student’s demand on how he/she wishes that his/her case is resolved
  4. The reclamation should be made no later than 7 (seven) days from the event causing the complaint.
  5. The School has 7 (seven) days to consider the case from the moment of receiving the complaint.
  6. The Student will be informed on the way of resolving the issue via e-mail or phone call.
  7. The refund should be agreed with the Student concerning the particular case.


§ 7 COVID - 19

  1. If the entire group has to be quarantined due to one of the students or employees of the Varia Polish Language Center being diagnosed COVID-19, the classes of the 3-week course will be conducted ONLINE at a convenient time for students.
  2. If the authorities of the Republic of Poland order the obligatory closure of schools, the classes of the 3-week course will be conducted ONLINE at a convenient time for students.
  3. If you wish to resign from the course in the event of the above-mentioned situations, the course fee is non-refundable.
