One-Year Polish Language Course By-laws
§ 1. REGISTRATION FOR THE ONE-YEAR COURSE
You are registered for the course after filling out the application form (online or at the School’s office) and making the full payment for the course, as well as delivering the following documents to the school office:
- Bank confirmation of payment
- The first page of your passport
- Information about the course start date (you can start the course at any time)
- The address to which the confirmation letter should be sent (for an additional fee of 45 PLN/10 EUR) or information regarding collection of the confirmation in person.
§ 2. PAYMENT FOR THE ONE-YEAR COURSE
- The Student is required to pay the full course fee.
- The course price includes an administrative fee of 440 PLN for the preparation and organization of the course.
- The price includes:
- A confirmation letter to verify participation in the course to be submitted to the relevant authority
- 250 hours of Polish language and culture classes in the form of group courses (semester and intensive courses) as well as individual lessons
- Workshops and lectures
- Integration events
- One textbook and one workbook (one complete set)
- Additional teaching materials
- Varia Club discount card
- Access to the student’s panel
- Placement test
- Final test
- Certificate of completion of the courseThe course fee covers:
- Payments can be made in cash, by card, or via bank transfer.

The student is responsible for all bank fees.
§ 3. CANCELLATION OF THE COURSE
- Cancellation rules:
- In the event of a visa or residence card denial received before the start of the course, the participant will receive a refund of the amount paid minus administrative costs (440 PLN/100 EUR).
- If a visa or residence card denial occurs after the course has started, the participant will receive a refund of the amount paid minus administrative costs (440 PLN/100 EUR), the cost of any textbooks received, and the cost of lessons that took place.
- Ceasing participation in classes does not equate to terminating the agreement and does not exempt the Student from the obligations.
- Failure to attend classes within the timeframe specified in the confirmation letter does not constitute grounds for requesting a refund of the paid fee or for attending classes at a different time than specified in the confirmation letter.
§ 4. CONFIRMATION LETTER
- After paying the full course fee, the participant will receive a confirmation letter of enrollment in the one-year Polish language course at the Varia Polish Language Center.
- The confirmation letter can be presented to the relevant authority to apply for a visa or to legalize residency in Poland.
- The confirmation letter is issued for one year.
- The confirmation letter in a name of one Student.
- It cannot be transferred to another person.
- Attendance in classes at a time different from that specified in the certificate is not permitted.
§ 5. CREATION OF THE GROUPS, FUNDAMENTAL RULES
- The Students (with the exception of students starting their Polish education, students continuing their education at Varia) is required to take a placement test and/or participate in an interview with a Varia teacher.
- A free placement test is provided for the Student’s convenience on Varia’s web page www.kurspolskiego.pl.
- The instructional groups are created based on the Students’ language ability, age, and individual needs.
- The course is designed for Students over 15 years of age.
- Upon the class commencement, it is permissible for the Student to change course level (to a higher or a lower one) with Varia’s approval.
- The number of Students in a group vary from 5 to 14.
- The School reserves the right to change the Teacher during the course because of unforeseen circumstances.
- Varia requires Students to be punctual, actively participate in class, and diligently prepare for future lessons. It is forbidden for the Student to be disruptive during a class, to use a mobile phone or any other equipment that interrupts the group, or to behave in a manner inconsistent with commonly accepted social norms, in particular concerning religious and national feelings.
- Students are not reimbursed for their absences.
- In case of a Teacher’s absence, technical issues, or other unforeseen circumstances, the School will provide a substitute or reschedule classes to a date convenient for all Participants.
- Varia reserves the right to record lessons for educational purposes. The recordings will be used only for the School’s purposes without being shared or distributed to third parties.
- In case of any suggestions or concerns, please contact your Teacher, the Office, or the Management.
- The School will provide the certificate issued to the Student and information regarding the participant’s classes upon request from customs services or any office for foreigners.
§ 6. CERTIFICATES, TESTS
- To obtain a course certificate a Student has to participate in at least 60% of lessons during the semester course and receive a positive grade from the final exam (min. 60%).
- A Student advances to the next level course upon passing the final test (at least 60%), attending at least 60% of lessons, completing assigned homework, and receiving a positive opinion from the Teacher about the Student’s work and his/her progress.
- A student who did not participate in the final exam with his group is required to take the test at the earliest possible date.
- At the Student’s request, Varia will provide a course completion certificate.
§ 7. WARRANTY CLAIMS
- Every Student has a right to file a warranty complaint. The warranty claim can refer to the teaching methods and/or organizational issues.
- A warranty claim can be submitted:
- In writing at the office of Varia Centrum Języka Polskiego Sp. z o.o. (ul. Michalowskiego 2/3, 31-126 Kraków).
- Via email to the address: info@kurspolskiego.pl
- A properly submitted complaint should include:
- The personal information of the Student (name, surname, address, email)
- The description of the situation causing the complaint
- The Student’s expectations regarding the resolution of the complaint
- Complaints must be submitted within seven days of the occurrence of the event.
- The School will review complaints within seven days of the date the complaint was received.
- The Student will be informed of the complaint resolution via email.
- The form of any individual compensation will be determined together with the Student.
