Conditions

1. Conditions for intensive summer and winter courses

GROUPS AND ORGANIZATION OF THE COURSES

The enrollment for the course is made by filling in the application form (on-line or at the office) and transferring the fee of the course. Paying the fee and receiving a confirmation results in the acceptance of this statute. The statute is constituent of the agreement, which is concluded with every student during the enrollment.

To define the language level of the student it is essential to complete a test and go through an interview with a teacher (this does not apply to those who begin the study of the Polish language for the first time). The groups are formed with taking into account the language experience, age and individual needs of the participants.

The course terminates with a test that verifies the progress of each student. A positive result qualifies the student to the next level.

In case of any suggestions or remarks please contact your teacher, the office or the management.

The School reserves the right to use the photos made during the classes for marketing purposes.

In case of need, the School reserves the right to the change of teachers during the course due to important organisation issues.

ABSENCES

Students who are late, leave the lessons early or are absent for any personal reasons are unentitled to a refund. If the classes had been cancelled because if the problems of the School (teacher's illness, technical issues, etc.), the School organises a substitution or the classes are postponed to another date that is suitable for all the participants.

The students who did not complete the course will not obtain the Course completion Certificate. In a similar case, on the student's request the School can sign a confirmation of attendance.

RESIGNATION

The instalment payable before the course commences is non-refundable.

If a participant announces his/her resignation two weeks before the beginning of the course, he/she can postpone their attendance to a later date or offer the vacant place to a colleague. In such a case, he/she will not bear any costs related to the resignation from the course.

In the case of resignation just after the course has begun the participant forfeits the total amount and all extra payments.

INSURANCE

Before coming to Poland, a participant should obtain travel and health insurance that is valid abroad.

LESSONS UNITS

The number of the lesson units depends on the number of students in the group:

  • from 5 to 10 students in the group: 20 lessons a week (4 lessons a day)
  • from 3 to 4 students in the group: 15 lessons a week (3 lessons a day)
  • 1  - 2 students in the group - 10 lessons a week (two lessons a day)

One lesson unit equals forty five minutes.

Apart from that:

  • Twice a week consultation hours with the teachers – open to all students
  • Once a week conversation meetings, for all students
  • There is a possibility to visit other classes once yours is over. As a listener, you will get all the needed materials, but you can not participate actively during the classes.

2. Conditions for Semester courses

In case a previously planned group can not be launched because of insufficient number of participants, the students that had paid the fee will have it reimbursed.

Once the course has started, in case the number of participants reduces (to less than 4 people), the School will suggest either another group on the same level, a smaller number of classes or the reimbursement of the paid fee, substracting the number of classes that the student already had.

FEES AND PAYMENT

The fee for the semester course is established for each semester and for a group that has at least 4 students. A course with 3 participants can be launched only if they all agree to it and it will consist of 34 lessons (instead of 44).

The fee for the course includes:
1. Tuition
2. Photocopies and other materials used in class
3. Test that defines the level of the student
4. Course completion Certificate
5. Consultations with the teacher

The fee amount can not be changed during the semester.

Having applied, the participants are required to pay either the total amount for the course OR the first instalment (the amount of the instalment and the deadlines depend of the kind of the course - see under  "Prices") in cash or as a transfer into our bank account:

For the students that join the groups during the semester, the fees are calculated individually (90minutes is 40zl).

ABSENCES

Students who are late, leave the lessons early, or are absent for any personal reasons are unentitled to a refund. If the classes had been cancelled because of the problems of the School (teacher's illness, technical issues, etc.), the School organises a substitution or the classes are postponed to another date that is suitable for all the participants.

If the student knows that he/she will not be able to attend the classes for the following 3 weeks or more and he/she informs the School about this fact, the fee for the course will be reduced, however it can not be smaller than the first instalment paid for the course.

A student that has missed a lesson is obliged to contact his/her teacher in order to study the material and to do the homework (the teacher gives his telephone number and/or his e-mail at the beginning of the course).

The students who did not complete the course will not obtain the Course completion Certificate. In a similar case, on the student's request the School can sign a certificate of attendance.

RESIGNATION

The person that enrolls to the course is obliged to pay the total amount, also by choosing to pay in instalments. In case of resignation until the end of the first month of the course, the School will reimburse 20% of the fee if the student has already paid for the whole course.

INDIVIDUAL LESSONS

The students who attend individual lessons have the possibility to change the dates of the classes. The change in the schedule should be done during a working day, at least with a 24-hour notice prior to the already planned class, with an adequate information sent by e-mail or passed by phone. The change of the date of the class must be confirmed by the Varia Office or the teacher. The class that has been postponed should take place within 10 days from the cancellation.

Opinions

I am listening to the CD I got from you and I would like to thank you once again, not only for the CD, but for the two weeks I spent in Kraków! Thanks to you I had a fresh and thorough look at the extraordinary place. Unfortunately, two weeks are not enough to explore the whole city, and that's why I'm all the more happy about my next visit. Right now I know that if I need any information about Kraków's cultural or night life, I have someone to turn to.
