We are a close-knit team of interesting characters. Among us are cat lovers and eager aquarists, sugar fanatics and healthy life-style practitioners, quiet evening with a book enthusiasts and tireless adventure seekers, talented choir singers and creative gardeners…

It all started with us.
We are the founders and proud owners of Varia. We are also close friends and neighbours. Together, we have created a unique team and we feel great in each other’s company. We are outgoing, friendly, and full of new ideas. We love spending time and working with people. They inspire us to action.
Before Varia, there was time for studying, moving to Krakow, traveling… There were plans and dreams. From the very beginning, we knew we wanted to create a place where we would be able to pursue our passions, share our knowledge, and bring our best ideas to life.
That is how Varia was born.
Here at Varia, we have a great team of people that will help you bury the body and are as thick as thieves. We have a place where our students (cared for by our expert teachers) can indulge in learning Polish language, meet fascinating people and Polish culture - chill and for real.

I came to Varia a few years ago as a Polish language student. I was preparing for the certification exam and learning Polish very intensively. I remember how much fun it was to meet my teacher and other Varia employees at school. It was a fantastic time that I often reminisce about.
When the opportunity to join the Varia team presented itself, I knew immediately, it was the right job for me. It all worked out! Now, I advise students which course to choose, motivate them to learn Polish, and have great conversations with them. I make sure that everyone, who comes to Varia, feels special here, just like I used to.

Since my family moved to Poland in 2018, we have started becoming a part of Varia. We have grown into it. We have gotten to know the people and the place.

My husband Ken and four children: Ela, Julia, Adam, and Daniel have started taking Polish language classes. I have begun getting to know the school, the students, and the teachers. Very informally, sometimes while having a cup of coffee, other times in a passing conversation. I liked this friendly, warm place. A few times I stayed late, and now I am working (although this is not the most suitable description, because mostly I enjoy being and give endlessly) at Varia. I implement the Varia mission - I create a place where everyone feels at home. Every day, I make our school the most friendly and comfortable place to learn and to teach. I take care of everyone and everything.

I relax while practicing yoga, discover myself by taking pictures of my surroundings, loose myself in good books. I constantly learn. I never say “no” to travelling or to a great cup of coffee. I indulge myself in shapes, colors, scents. I am learning to feel.

At Varia I work as a director of study. I supervise the the entire teaching process and its implementation. I ensure the great quality of all lessons by helping our teachers conduct their classes in an effective but also inspiring way. In my free time, I like to travel, especially to Istanbul and the Balkans. I am passionate about cinema, fashion, Polish folklore as well as the forgotten stories and legends. My favourite place in Krakow is Planty - any time of day, any time of year.

I am always on my bicycle and fascinated by language and people. Every aspect of language captivates me. I love observing how language influences our perception of the world, how it shapes us, how it evolves with time, and how it co-creates our culture. For me, learning a language is like discovering a whole new world. It allows me to meet new people, develop my own personality, and … have fun. A bicycle trip to discover the local colour or a bonfire accompanied by long conversations with students about ourselves and our culture - that is what I love about my job.

My name is Agata Miks-Lorenzoni, and I have a license to teach. Being a teacher is not only my occupation but also my passion. My experience comes from working in Poland and Italy. I believe people continue learning throughout their lives, and I find that beautiful. A recipe for a successful lesson? A large dose of clear communication and a pleasant atmosphere, a pinch of grammar, and a spoonful of vocabulary. During my lessons I like using creative materials. In my free time, I cook, read, and travel, especially in Tuscany. I am passionate about sociolinguistics and learning foreign languages. I appreciate my students’ even tiniest attempts to communicate, and I want to support their efforts.

I hope my lessons are eagerly awaited by my students. After many years of teaching, I continuously enjoy my job. While during my work I give much of myself, I receive just as much.

Anna Winczura

I have been teaching Polish as a foreign language since 2005. My experience comes from teaching at universities in Poland, Czech Republic, France, and Germany. Currently, I teach online. I am passionate about foreign languages. Since I am continuously learning new languages, I can easily put myself in my students’ shoes and understand their needs. I am trying to design interesting and dynamic lessons filled with a variety of information about the Polish geography, culture, and society. In my lessons, I also use my personal interests and hobbies, including love for cooking, cinema, music, and board games.

I work as a tour guide in Krakow, and I love this city! In my line of work, every day I appreciate not only the beautiful monuments but also the people I cross paths with. I truly enjoy meeting new people, learning about their culture, and discovering their mentality. The same things are important and valuable to me when I teach Polish. I believe languages are a window into the world and I want to show my foreign students a little bit of the Polish world. I also like travelling and hope to visit South America. In my free time, I like bike riding, mountain hiking, hanging out with friends, and playing with my dog.

Foreign languages are my specialty. I speak Russian and English fluently, but I have always been the most passionate about the Polish language. I graduated with a degree in Russian Philology. Upon earning the certification to teach Polish as a foreign language, I started teaching. I take great pleasure in sharing my knowledge with my students, especially the youngest ones. I love travelling. My dream is to hitchhike across the former Soviet Union and travel by the Trans-Siberian Railway all the way to China. When I am not physically travelling, I use my cooking skills to take me to the remote places in the world.

Ludwig Wittgenstein said, “the limits of language . . . mean the limits of my world.” As a Polish language teacher, I have been helping people from all over the world expand these limits. I enjoy teaching grammar because that is where the logic of a language lies. I sometimes work as a translator. I like photography, cats, knitted toys, and reading late into the night. I hope one day to learn Finnish, Japanese, and Icelandic.

I like enthusiasts because if it were not for them, who else would learn Polish? :) I like irrational variety, even absurdity - there is always something interesting, but unexpected similarities may hit close to home. I love travelling and during each trip I really try to "see" other cultures. My work and passion is to teach those who set out on a trip to Poland and settle down there for a while - I help them to find "new eyes" in Polish reality. I cannot get bored, I like riding a bike, practicing yoga, buying cool clothes and talking to people! My favourite writers are Italo Calvino and Matei Visniec, while ma favourite word is “flanowanie”, which means a spontaneous wandering around town and sightseeing without a map or a guide but focused on getting to know the residents.

I love travelling and teaching Polish as a foreign language. From my students I learn a lot about the cultures, flavours, and colours of the world. What I like most about my job is getting to know the other person by teaching him the language. I teach children and adults. I also conduct studies on the inherited language in the Polish youth living in The British Islands. In my free time, I like reading contemporary literature, watching TV series and movies, and developing my culinary skills.

My Polish language teaching adventure started in 2013, when I was working at a language camp with Belarusian and Lithuanian students. Then, I have graduated the Slavic Philology at the Catholic University in Lublin and completed my internship at the Catholic Peter Pazmany University in Budapest. I have started to accompany many people from all over the world in their Polish language journey while working at various language schools. In my free time, I read books, listen to podcasts, play the ukulele, practice yoga, take pictures, and learn foreign languages.

My adventure with the Polish language has started a long time ago, and it still continues. It is a never-ending journey through various parts of the world, cultures, traditions, and customs. I enjoy getting to know new people, their countries, personalities, and life stories. I am glad when I can offer my students the tools necessary to discover the whole new world – the world of the Polish language.
During my lessons I create nice and friendly atmosphere. There is plenty of laughter and fun. I want my students to feel comfortable and not be afraid to speak Polish.
I am inviting all explorers - desiring new adventures – to embark on the train called the Polish language and to start a new inspiring journey. Who knows? Maybe a life-long journey?

I love infecting people with my love for the Polish language. My students inspire and motivate me. I am a Polish language teacher, a musician, and a cultural expert - I use all this knowledge during my lessons.
The biggest advantage of my job is meeting people from all over the world, which in turn creates my desire to travel. I have been fascinated with the Middle East region, especially its customs, religion, music, and languages. I am an avid walker – I like to travel the world on foot while listening to music or audiobooks. I am addicted to books, chocolate, coffee, and Turkish tea.

I love languages and because of them I can achieve my dreams and life goals. I can travel (mostly hitchhike;) and meet new people, learn their stories and different life perspectives. I also become familiar with the cultural heritage of their countries. I am a Polish and French philologist. I love speaking French (mostly about food), but the only language I love reading in is Polish. My passion for languages has two faces and I don't know which one of them I prefer - to learn languages or to teach them :) In both cases it's a great adventure!

I teach not only the foreigners at the Varia school but also the Polish language students at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. I am interested in many aspects of the Polish language – persuasion and manipulation techniques, the regional Polish language, and of course the Polish grammar. In my free time, I like to travel, meet up with friends, go to the movies, and practice yoga.

After many years of working as a teacher and therapist, I am very proud that I can use the best of my experience in teaching Polish as a foreign language.
I know that the only effective way to support children in their learning is a combination of many educational and therapeutic approaches.
I rely on the direct method. It is a way of learning a language based primarily on speaking and listening only in the foreign language. Instructions are given by the teacher in a foreign language, and the child learns the foreign language similarly to a child learning his or her first language. The listener first hears the words, then utters them imitating the pronunciation of the teacher, and only then learns the spelling: he reads and writes. I am certain that it is possible to teach a language starting from conversation, and not from complicated grammar content.
It is very important for me to get to know well the language level of the course participants. The lesson materials must be well suited to the abilities of the students.

I discover other people's worlds through conversations, books, art, and travel. In my free time, I am learning to recognize wild edible plants and I also practice Slavic gymnastics. My way of relaxing is walking, coffee and books.

Learning foreign languages is a quite the pleasure for me, so I share it with others. During classes, I try to smuggle knowledge about Polish culture, history, customs, people - then the language comes to life, it ceases to be just a set of rules and words. And let's be honest, learning Polish always comes with a lot of laughter and fun, in no other language there are so many surprises and revelations:)
I spend my free time in the water; I swim, row, dive. Sometimes I like backpacking. I cordially greet all potential and future students!

I am a Ukrainian philologist by education and passion, with my heart torn between Krakow and Kiev – while being in one city, I always miss the other one.
I started teaching Polish in cooperation with Polish organizations in Ukraine, helping to prepare candidates for the interviews to obtain the Pole's Card. Over time, I began to specialize in teaching people from the East Slavic language area: knowing Ukrainian and Russian, I understand well what problems my students may have. The best part about the work of a teacher, apart from the satisfaction from passing on the knowledge, is that I constantly have new opportunities to meet interesting people and dialogue with them, exchange thoughts, ideas, and energy.

I started teaching at Varia because I like working with people. At this school, I meet only wonderful, interesting people who radiate positive energy. I am happy when I can help my students achieve their goals. I try to make everyone feel accomplished while acquiring new skills during my lessons and not feel stressed when they meet a "chrząszcz brzmi w trzcinie" or another malicious language-bug, for which Polish is famous. Meeting newcomers from other countries during lessons at Varia is a great substitute for traveling around the world, and traveling gives me the greatest joy.

Anna Socha-Michalik PhD

I am a doctor of humanities, a linguist by passion and education. In addition to working on fascinating morphosyntactic issues, I like hiking in the mountains and reading about geopolitics. I treat my lessons as an opportunity to meet new people and their worlds, about which I teach my students to talk in Polish. Deep in my heart, I believe that the Polish language will become the new "lingua franca" of the modern world.

My name is Marta and I am in love with the Polish language! I teach children with whom you can never be bored! Together we discover the rich world of language and exchange cultural experiences. The most important is that we learn from each other, and at the same time - we have a great time! I spend my free time reading and listening to books, baking cakes, and conversing with friends. I also love traveling, good movies, and flower.

When I am not at work, where I explain the secrets of the Polish language and promote my native culture, I fulfill myself as a Russian language translator. I am interested in contrastive grammar, teaching methodology, and cultural determinants of communication. Outside of work, you can meet me at a museum, on a bike path, and in a bookstore.

LANGUAGE LEVELS – WHAT DO THEY MEAN?

We offer classes at all levels: from Beginners (A1) to Advanced (C2).

Those participants who have studied Polish will write a placement test which is intended to asses their knowledge of the grammar and vocabulary of the Polish language. On the basis of the test results and after the conversation with the teacher, you will be placed in a group suitable for your language level.

A1 LEVEL Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce himself/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is willing to help. To reach this level you need to complete 80-120 lesson units.

A2 LEVEL Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to the areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in the areas of immediate need. To reach this level you need to complete 180-200 lesson units.

B1 LEVEL Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered at work, school or during his/her free time, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple coherent texts on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events as well as dreams, hopes and ambitions. Can briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. To reach this level you need to complete 350-400 lesson units. 

B2 LEVEL Can understand the main ideas of a complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions related to his/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed texts on a wide range of subjects and explain his/her viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. To reach this level you need to complete 500-600 lesson units.

C1 LEVEL Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. Can express himself/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed texts on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices. To reach this level you need to complete 700-800 lesson units.

C2 LEVEL Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express himself/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations. To reach this level you need to complete 1000-1200 lesson units.

 

 

Polish as a Foreign Language Exam

If you would like to study in Poland (and in Polish), most universities will require you to provide a proof of knowledge of the Polish language at the B1 level. At Varia you can take an appropriate exam and receive the needed certificate.

Polish Language Center Varia issues official certificates for its partner school – Krakowska Akademia im. Andrzeja Frycza Modrzewskiego. Our certificates are also accepted at many other universities and colleges.

Exam information

The exam can be taken at our Varia School located in Krakow at Michałowskiego Street 2/3 or online.

The exam consists of two parts: written and oral.

The written exam lasts 60 minutes and includes:

  1. reading comprehension
  2. grammar
  3. vocabulary
  4. writing

The oral exam lasts 15 minutes and consists of:

  1. The candidate prepares a short verbal statement on an assigned topic (5 minutes to prepare).
  2. The candidate participates in a spontaneous conversation (without preparation) with the examiner.

The results and the certificate are available on the day of the exam.

  • For Varia students – 100 PLN

Language levels – what do they mean?

We offer classes at all levels: from Beginners (A1) to Advanced (C2).

Those participants who have studied Polish will write a placement test which is intended to asses their knowledge of the grammar and vocabulary of the Polish language. On the basis of the test results and after the conversation with the teacher, you will be placed in a group suitable for your language level.

A1 LEVEL Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce himself/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is willing to help. To reach this level you need to complete 80-120 lesson units.

A2 LEVEL Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to the areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in the areas of immediate need. To reach this level you need to complete 180-200 lesson units.

B1 LEVEL Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered at work, school or during his/her free time, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple coherent texts on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events as well as dreams, hopes and ambitions. Can briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. To reach this level you need to complete 350-400 lesson units.

B2 LEVEL Can understand the main ideas of a complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions related to his/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed texts on a wide range of subjects and explain his/her viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. To reach this level you need to complete 500-600 lesson units.

C1 LEVEL Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. Can express himself/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed texts on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices. To reach this level you need to complete 700-800 lesson units.

C2 LEVEL Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express himself/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations. To reach this level you need to complete 1000-1200 lesson units.

Personal data of users of the webpages

  1. VARIA Centrum Języka Polskiego Sp. z o.o.  provides all Users of the Services with the exercise of their rights under the Act of 29 August 1997 on the Protection of Personal Data (consolidated text in the Journal of Laws of 2002 No. 101, item 95/46 / EC of the European Parliament and the Council) 926 with later changes) (hereinafter „the Act”).
  2. The purposes of personal data processing:
    • Data processing for purposes related to the language course application (data included in the contact form, application form and online tests, e.g. name, telephone number, email address). For accounting purposes (e.g. name and surname, address). Some User’s data may be downloaded automatically when visiting the Webpages (eg IP address, domain name, browser type, operating system type);
    • Processing of personal data for marketing purposes (only in the case of the User’s consent), in particular for the purpose of sending commercial information and newsletters via e-mail to the provided e-mail address within the meaning of the Act of 18 July 2002 on the provision of services by electronic means (Journal of Laws of 9 September 2002, as amended) and other provisions of generally applicable law;
    • Providing personal data is voluntary, however, the lack of a consent to the processing of personal data by us may prevent us from providing services;
    • By entrusting us with your personal data, the User gains the right to inspect them, the right to request their updates and the right to request their removal. The security of personal data

VARIA Centrum Języka Polskiego Sp. z o.o.  implements technical measures provided by the law, the purpose of which is to ensure the best possible protection of collected personal data against unauthorized access or use by unauthorized persons.

Cookies

VARIA Centrum Języka Polskiego Sp. z o.o.  pursuant to the provisions of art. 173 and 174 of the Act of 16 July 2004 Telecommunications Law (Journal of Laws of July 16, 2004, as amended) informs that as part of the Services uses the file technology so-called „cookies”.

In order to adapt the content and services to the individual needs and interests of the Users of the website www.kurspolskiego.pl, we use the so-called cookies, i.e. information saved by servers of websites on the User’s computer, which servers can read every time you connect to this computer. Cookies provide us with statistical data about the Users’ traffic and the use of particular websites by them. The User may at any time disable the option of accepting cookies in his browser, however, disabling cookies may cause difficulties or even make it impossible to use certain services, in particular those requiring login. Disabling the option of accepting cookies does not mean that you cannot read or view the content posted on the website.

Profiling

The Administrator uses automatic processing tools to process Users’ personal data. By using the tools for profiling personal data, the Administrator is able to assess personal factors related to a specific User, and in particular to analyse or forecast aspects related to personal preferences, interests, etc. The purpose of profiling is to provide individual Users with personalized and tailored offers and content in all channels, including via FB, e-mail marketing, dynamic content on the website and direct sales. Each User has the right to withdraw consent to the processing of their personal data consisting in profiling.

VARIA Centrum Języka Polskiego Sp. z o.o. reserves the right to change the above privacy policy by publishing a new privacy policy at www.kurspolskiego.pl.

Individual course By-laws

  1. To enroll in a course, fill out a registration form (available online at www.kurspolskiego.pl or at the school office) and pay the fee for the first lesson.
  2. Varia reserves the right to record lessons for educational purposes. The recordings will be used only for the school’s purposes without sharing or distributing them to third parties.
  3. Individual course students are allowed to participate in additional activities organized by Varia for all students, e.g. workshops, integration parties.

Resignation and fees

  1. Individual course students are allowed to cancel or change the dates of planned classes. The change or cancelation notice needs to be received and confirmed by our office or the teacher at least 24 hours prior to the originally planned lesson. Notices need to be sent via email (info@kurspolskiego.pl) or phone (12 633 58 71) and received during our office’s regular business hours. Otherwise, the full lesson fee will be assessed.
  2. In case of a teacher’s absence, Varia will provide a substitute (approved by the student) or reschedule the class for the time and date convenient to the student.
  3. A student has a right to discontinue attending classes without providing a reason. In such cases, Varia is obligated to return any of the student’s unused funds.

Late policy

In the case of a student’s tardiness, the teacher is obligated to wait for the student for a period of fifteen minutes, unless the teacher is notified of a longer delay. The duration of the lesson will not be prolonged.

Varia Polish Language Center School By-laws

§ 1 Creation of the groups, fundamental rules

  1. Enrollment in a course is constituted by filling out a registration form (online or at Varia’s office) and paying the required fee. The By-laws are an integral part of an agreement signed between the Student and Varia. Receipt of the course fee is equivalent to acceptance of the By-laws.
  2. The prospective Varia students (with the exception of students starting their Polish education, students continuing their education at Varia, students who have earned a language certificate, or students holding an international language diploma) are required to take a placement test and/or participate in an interview with a Varia teacher.
  3. A free placement test is provided for the Student’s convenience on Varia’s web page www.kurspolskiego.pl.
  4. The instructional groups are created based on the Students’ language ability, age, and individual needs.
  5. The course is designed for Students over 15 years of age.
  6. Upon the class commencement, it is permissible for the Student to change course level (to a higher or a lower one) with Varia’s approval.
  7. The number of Students in a group vary from 5 to 13.
  8. If a particular class cannot be launched because of an insufficient number of participants, any fees paid by the Student in advance will be returned in full.
  9. If, after commencement of a class, the number of participants decreases to fewer than five, the Students will be offered to join a different group, to participate in an abbreviated course, or to have the unused fees returned.
  10. For Students joining the course after the commencement of the semester course, the course price is calculated individually.
  11. The School reserves the right to change the Teacher during the course because of unforeseen circumstances.
  12. Varia requires Students to be punctual, actively participate in class, and diligently prepare for future lessons. It is forbidden for the Student to be disruptive during a class, to use a mobile phone or any other equipment that interrupts the group, or to behave in a manner inconsistent with commonly accepted social norms, in particular concerning religious and national feelings.
  13. Students are not reimbursed for their absences.
  14. In case of a Teacher’s absence, technical issues, or other unforeseen circumstances, the School will provide a substitute or reschedule classes to a date convenient for all Participants.
  15. Varia reserves the right to record lessons for educational purposes. The recordings will be used only for the School’s purposes without being shared or distributed to third parties.
  16. In case of any suggestions or concerns, please contact your Teacher, the Office, or the Management.

§ 2 Certifications, tests, documents

  1. To obtain a course certificate a Student has to participate in at least 60% of lessons during the semester course and receive a positive grade from the final exam (min. 60%).
  2. A Student advances to the next level course upon passing the final test (at least 60%), attending at least 60% of lessons, completing assigned homework, and receiving a positive opinion from the Teacher about the Student’s work and his/her progress.
  3. A student who did not participate in the final exam with his group is required to take the test at the earliest possible date.
  4. At the Student’s request, Varia will provide a course registration confirmation, which can be presented to apply for a residence card or a visa.

§ 3 Payment for the course

  1. Students are required to pay for the entire course in advance or in installments in accordance to the price list of the School.
  2. The price of the course includes a 150 PLN administrative fee.
  3. The Course price.
    • 3.1 The price of the semester course (at Varia and online) includes:
      • Polish language lessons
      • Additional materials (except for a textbook and a workbook) used in class
      • Cultural program prepared for the semester course (such as lectures, themed workshops)
      • Placement test
      • Final exam
      • Certificate of attendance
    • 3.2 The price of the 3-week intensive course includes:
        • Polish language lessons
        • Teaching materials
        • Placement test
        • Final exam
        • Certificate of attendance

      On the first day of the course, the Students with previous Polish language experience take a placement test – oral and/or written – based on which they will be assigned to the appropriate group. All groups participate in 2 lessons on the first day (from 11:15am to 12:45pm).

  4. 3.3 The price of the intensive summer course includes:
    • Polish language lessons
    • 2 language and culture workshops
    • Teaching materials
    • Placement test
    • Final exam
    • Certificate of attendance
  1. The course fee must be paid in full prior to the commencement of the course. There is an option to pay in two installments, which does not change the price of the course.
    1. The first installment should be paid within 1 week upon receipt of registration confirmation. The balance must be paid at least one week prior to the start of the course.
    2. In case of enrollment in a course less than one week prior to the start of such course, the full course fee must be paid at once.

§ 4 Cancellation

  1. Cancellation rules:
    1. If a cancellation is made more than two weeks prior to the beginning of the course, the School will refund a Student’s entire payment less the administrative fee (150 PLN).
    2. If a cancellation is made less than two weeks before the beginning of the course, but prior to the commencement of the course, the Student who paid the full course fee is refunded the full amount less the first installment.
    3. If a cancellation is made two days after the course begins, the fee will not be reimbursed.
    4. A student who applied for a visa or a residence card and received the proper document from the School is not entitled to the reimbursement of the first installment of the fee regardless of the time of the cancellation.
  2. If the student does not pay the second installment of the course fee within seven days after the due date, he/she loses the right to attend the classes until the bill is settled in accordance with the By-laws. A Student who does not pay the second installment of the course fee and stops attending classes continues to be obligated to fulfil the terms of his/her agreement.
  3. The cancellation fee for participation in a group course may be waived when the Student submits a written request to the School’s office, along with a proof of extenuating circumstances, such as: chronic illness, serious family situation, random accidents. Decision to waive the cancellation fee is made solely by the Director of VARIA Centrum Języka Polskiego Sp. z o.o. and will be provided within 7 days of receipt of the request.

§ 5 Warranty complaints

  1. Every Student has a right to file a warranty complaint. The warranty claim can refer to the teaching methods and/or organizational issues.
  2. A warranty claim can be submitted:
    1. In writing at the office of Varia Centrum Języka Polskiego Sp. z o.o. (ul. Michalowskiego 2/3, 31-126 Kraków).
    2. Via email to the address: info@kurspolskiego.pl
  3. A properly submitted complaint should include:
    1. The personal information of the Student (name, surname, address, email)
    2. The description of the situation causing the complaint
    3. The Student’s expectations regarding the resolution of the complaint
  4. Complaints must be submitted within seven days of the occurrence of the event.
  5. The School will review complaints within seven days of the date the complaint was received.
  6. The Student will be informed of the complaint resolution via email.
  7. The form of any individual compensation will be determined together with the Student.
